At the end of November, the Train the Trainers event took place in Malta. The event was the key step in the preparation for the launch of the Fem-Up Academy.
Each partner organisation from Slovenia, Italy, Greece, Spain, Turkey, and Malta sent two trainers to participate in this event. This training focused on equipping trainers with the tools and knowledge to help young women aged 18-30 gain the entrepreneurial skills needed to achieve their goals. Therefore, these trainers will play a vital role in the Academy, guiding and supporting five learners from each country through self-paced learning and personalised mentoring.
Preparing Trainers for Success
As mentioned, the Train the Trainers event was designed to ensure that trainers are ready to mentor and inspire participants effectively during the Fem-up Academy. The training included:
- Platform Overview: Trainers were introduced to the online platform the learners will use, learning how to navigate and leverage its features effectively.
- Content Review: Trainers explored the entrepreneurial knowledge and resources developed for the Academy, which includes essential tools for building skills and business confidence.
- Roles and Responsibilities: We outlined the trainers’ key tasks, from providing mentorship to monitoring learners’ progress and giving constructive feedback.
- Mentorship Techniques: Trainers were trained on best practices for fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Supporting Entrepreneurial Growth
The core mission of the Fem-Up Academy is to empower young women with entrepreneurial knowledge, skills, and mindset. Entrepreneurship is not just about starting a business; it’s about cultivating creativity, problem-solving abilities, and resilience—valuable qualities in all aspects of life. Through this program, trainers will play a pivotal role in shaping the learners’ journeys. Offering guidance and personalised mentoring will help mentees build a strong foundation in entrepreneurial concepts, including identifying opportunities, planning effectively, and managing resources.
Confidence-building is a key part of this process. Many young women face barriers such as self-doubt or societal expectations that hinder their ambitions. The Fem-Up Academy aims to dismantle these barriers by fostering an environment of encouragement and support. Trainers will act as mentors and guides, empowering mentees to believe in their capabilities and take bold steps toward their goals.
The Academy also emphasises collaboration and networking, encouraging participants to exchange ideas, share experiences, and learn from one another. These connections will enrich their learning experience and help build a community of empowered women who can support each other’s growth.
Moving Forward
With the trainers now equipped, we are ready to launch the Fem-Up Academy in January and begin the journey of mentorship and empowerment. We look forward to seeing this initiative’s positive impact on young women across Europe as they gain the entrepreneurial knowledge they need to thrive.
Stay tuned for updates on the Academy’s progress and the inspiring stories of our learners and trainers!
