As we approach the conclusion of the FEM-Up Academy, we are proud to share the positive outcomes of the FEM-Up Programme – an initiative designed to empower aspiring women entrepreneurs across Europe by providing them with a comprehensive learning experience through interactive modules, mentorship, guest lectures, and real-world exposure to the world of entrepreneurship.
The programme brought together 46 active participants from across 6 European countries and 17 dedicated trainers and mentors who supported them along the way, offering expertise, encouragement, and guidance at every stage.
At the beginning of the programme, only a small number of participants – four in total – had previously launched their own business or had significant entrepreneurial experience. For the majority, this was unfamiliar territory. Their average confidence level in entrepreneurial skills was modest, at 2.94 out of 5, emphasising the need for a programme to teach them alle the necessary tools and empower them.
In Module 1, participants explored the foundations of entrepreneurship – developing their personal and professional presentation, building self-confidence, and learning from the experiences of guest speakers. The sessions resonated deeply, with many participants highlighting the importance of learning to present themselves confidently and the powerful impact of hearing real stories from inspiring women entrepreneurs. The opportunity to connect with peers and build meaningful relationships was frequently mentioned as one of the most rewarding aspects of the experience. Module 1 received an average satisfaction rating of 4.4 out of 5, reflecting an 89% approval rate. Participants also appreciated the flexibility of recorded sessions, allowing them to revisit materials and catch up when needed.
In Module 2, the focus shifted toward strategy, planning, and the practical side of entrepreneurship. From understanding business models and managing finances to identifying customer needs and refining ideas, this module was especially valuable for those with limited experience. Many cited the unit on business strategy and financial management as particularly insightful. The opportunity to work directly on their business concepts helped participants internalise lessons and apply them in a real, meaningful way. The inclusion of resources and tools to support women entrepreneurs beyond the programme was also well received. Once again, the guest lectures were a highlight, providing real-world perspectives that inspired and informed. With a 4.5 out of 5 satisfaction rating, Module 2 was recognised as both practical and empowering.
At the end of the programme, the overall experience received a satisfying rating of 4.52 out of 5. For many, FEM-Up not only met expectations but exceeded them – 13 participants said it surpassed what they had hoped for, while 11 said it fully met their goals. Perhaps most encouraging, 92% of participants said they would recommend the programme to others, with the recommendation rating averaging 4.6 out of 5.
The results speak to the strength of the programme and the commitment of everyone involved. But even more influential are the stories and changes we witnessed: women stepping out of their comfort zones, gaining clarity about their ambitions, and beginning to see themselves as capable, confident entrepreneurs.
The FEM-Up Academy may be concluding, but this is just the beginning for the women who took part. We look forward to seeing where their journeys lead and continuing to support their growth, ideas, and futures.
